We are looking for motivated Honours, Masters and PhD students

There are several opportunities for enthusiastic students to undertake multidisciplinary study at UNSW. Beach safety researchers span several UNSW Schools and Faculties and work with a range of external partners including industry and government, both in Australia and globally. We are actively recruiting both domestic (Australian & New Zealand) and international students to work on beach safety and/or drowning prevention research projects.   • Climate change and coastal hazards

  • Coastal engineering

  • Coastal geomorphology

  • Community participatory research

  • Education and training (both for the general public and professional rescuers including lifeguards/lifesavers)

  • Emergency services and response

  • Environmental modelling

  • Epidemiology and/or biostatistics

  • GIS / geospatial analysis

  • Mental health research related to first responders, survivors and/or families

  • Program design and evaluation

  • Science communication and outreach
